The 2015 Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill 8, a new law on domestic violence and interpersonal protective orders that goes into effect Jan. HB 8 revised domestic violence statutes found in KRS 403.715-403.785.The bill extends the ability to get a civil order of protection to victims of dating violence and abuse, sexual assault or stalking in KRS 456.010 - 456.180, a new chapter of the Kentucky Revised Statutes.Deputies say one man traveled from Mississippi and another from Texas with the belief they would be meeting up with the teenager to have sex. The suspects were charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree-Illegal Sex Act, Victim under 18-years of age and/or Prohibited Use of an Electronic Communication System to Procure Sex from a Minor, according to investigators.
